Experience the history of the town from the memoirs and stories of people from the 1800's. What kind of fishing community and desert town did the Skagen artists come to?
Listen to Katrine, a fisherman's wife, telling the history of wind-blown Skagen during the first 600 years of the town's history, Laurits' story of Skagen harbour, the meeting between Michael Ancher and Krøyer, and the servant girl Maren's story about Anne Ancher. The tour starts on the beach in the western part of the town.
A trip around historical Aalborg (a stroll)
Follow in the servant girl Marie's footsteps in historical Aalborg.
Marie knows Aalborg inside out and she can tell you about daily life in Aalborg. The tour starts at VisitAalborg, Østerågade.

Stygge Krumpen at Børglum Kloster and Voergaaard Castle (car needed)
The rise and fall of Stygge Krumpen: Stygge Krumpen was the last Catholic bishop of Børglum from 1519 to 1536.
The tale of Stygge Krumpen takes place during a time of upheaval in Denmark's history with the Reformation, the peasant uprising and the struggle for power between the church and the king. The tour starts at Børglum Kloster.
This is what you do:
Download the zip file with the sound files and map. Print the map and put the sound files into your mp3 player or mobile phone. Follow the route on the map whilst listening to the sound files.
If you cannot download the files you may borrow an mp3 player at Skagen Tourist Office, paying a small deposit, though only with the story “A tour of the town of Skagen”.
