Holiday resorts – just made for a family holiday
|
|
A holiday resort is an unusually good example of well thought-out design; a successful combination of a hotel and a holiday home. A holiday resort has just about everything that a family’s holiday heart could desire. A lovely holiday dwelling with plenty of room for the whole family, the countryside right on your doorstep – and lots of activities and facilities both indoors and outdoors.
The majority of North Jutland’s holiday resorts are situated just a stone’s throw from the water, but you can also find them at the most attractive spots further inland. They’re a good choice at any time of the year, thanks to the fact that they all promote time spent together, intimacy, cosiness, relaxation and physical activities - with everything under one roof.
Your holiday dwelling is an apartment or a small detached house with its own patio or balcony. As a rule, the dwelling is laid out to cater for 4-8 people and standard equipment includes – in addition to good, practical furniture – colour TV, bedding and often a telephone. Bed linen, towels and tea towels can be rented at the resorts if you don’t wish to bring these items with you from home. The kitchen is also well equipped, and for those of you who are on kitchen duty, life is made easier thanks to a dishwasher and coffeemaker.
You can rent your holiday dwelling for one or more weeks, usually from Saturday to Saturday, but weekend breaks are also popular. Outside the high season and other holiday periods, shorter mid-week stays can almost always be arranged. The price of course depends on the season and the length of the stay, but it’s worth remembering that good discounts are usually available outside the high season.
The fact that the holiday dwellings are so different means that they’re equally suitable as a base for a quiet, relaxed holiday for just the two of you or as a venue for a family holiday or holiday with friends where the pace is a bit more frenetic. Pets such as dogs or cats are also welcome at the majority of holiday resorts, but remember to keep an eye on your four-legged friend – in particular with respect to its droppings.
One thing is absolutely certain – you never get bored at a holiday resort. Many resorts have both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, saunas and fitness rooms, and at several there’s also a subtropical leisure pool complex. Some have an activity centre where you can try your hand at sports such as surfing, diving, golf, riding and tennis. During the high season, in particular, the holiday resort’s sports team is ready to help you with good advice and guidance. If you prefer more sedate activities, table tennis and billiards are usually available.
Children love holiday resorts. The sound of children laughing and shouting can be heard at the playgrounds, where a playful uncle or aunt often gets things going before discreetly keeping an eye on the youngsters so that there’s not too much rough and tumble. Furthermore, it’s not unusual for holiday resorts to organise a magic show, children’s disco and treasure hunt, to name but a few of the possible activities.
Good food is also a must. This is fully catered for at a holiday resort, where there are places to eat to suit all tastes. There are often several restaurants to choose from and delightful cafés where you can enjoy a snack. You and the family are of course also welcome to prepare your food yourselves in your own well-equipped kitchen. There are always good possibilities for shopping either at the resort itself or close by, thus ensuring that buying your daily groceries is never a problem.
