Role-play in Northern Jutland
Live role-play is popular in many Danish woodlands and if you have the necessary equipment, imagination and desire getting started isn’t difficult. At
www.liveforum.dk you can find a range of local role-playing clubs, as well as information about upcoming events, shops, articles, news, debate and much more. Clubs usually require participants to be over 13 years of age, but there are no other restrictions. It’s not just men and boys who enjoy role-playing; 30% of role-players are actually women and girls.
Amongst the articles at
www.liveforum.dk is an article in Danish with tips for new role-players: "Kom godt igang med levende rollespil", (How to get started with live role-playing).
Organise your own live role-play
When organising a role-playing game of your own in a Danish wood, always obtain permission from the relevant authorities first. When using private woodland contact the owner. When role-playing in public woods you can use the application form on the
Danish Forest and Nature Agency website. Send the application well in advance, (at least 2 weeks before you plan to use the area) and include information regarding the number of participants and the length of time for which you wish to use the area.
Before applying find out whether there are toilets and water available in the area you have planned to use and whether there are bonfire sites and camping if you are planning to use the area for several days. It is also a good idea to inform the local forest ranger that you plan to use the wood.
